The department provides the data regarding Cost of Cultivation (COC) of the principal crops viz. wheat, paddy and cotton to the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India. This information is used by the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices and the Government in the fixation of Minimum Support Price (MSP) of these crops every year.
